Be a part of the brand new conference for young people that showcases our bilingual future in education, careers and community. There will be stands, workshops and talks that highlight the opportunities that stem from Irish and the vibrant community that is operating through Irish. FÍS ‘26 will take place in the Convention Centre Dublin in the middle of Dublin City during Seachtain na Gaeilge on the 12th of March, 2026.

About the Conference
FÍS ‘26 is a new conference that brings young people together to show them how Irish is shaping the future.
Students, young professionals, creators and Irish organisations will gather to show: Irish is of true benefit in academic, professional and social fields.
Please note that FÍS 2026 is an Irish-language event and all aspects of the event will be conducted through Irish.

For Whom?
Senior-cycle secondary school students (4th, 5th and 6th year) ,university students and members of the public.
Schedule
There will be a choice between two sessions for secondary school students, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The session for college students and for members of the public will take place in the evening.

DJ Próvaí
DJ Próvaí is a musician and Irish-language activist, widely recognised as a member of the rap group Kneecap. He has gained significant acclaim for his role in promoting the Irish language within contemporary youth culture and for demonstrating its relevance and vibrancy in a modern creative context.
Éadaoin Fitzmaurice
Éadaoin Fitmaurice is a content creator and influencer who uses her platform to promote the Irish language among young audiences. With a online following of almost half a million people, her content spans travel, fashion and food, while consistently integrating and normalising the use of Irish in digital spaces.
Róisín Seoighe
Róisín Seoighe is a sean-nós singer and lead vocalist of IMLÉ. She is an Ambassador for Seachtain na Gaeilge this year and was appointed as a Language Planning Officer for Dúiche Sheoigheach agus Tuar Mhic Éadaigh last year. Her work reflects a strong commitment to the preservation and development of Irish.
Caitríona Kenny
Caitríona Kenny is a Community and Social Development Officer with Dublin City Council, based in the South East Region. She has a strong background in community development, activism and grassroots movements. Outside of her professional work, Caitríona volunteers with several environmental and youth groups in Cabra, where she lives.
Peadar Ó Caomhánaigh
Peadar Ó Caomhánaigh is a Communications Manager in the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, and is involved in the Public Jobs recruitment campaign. He spent time as a broadcaster with Raidió na Life, as a podcaster on Motherfoclóir, and as Mayor of South Dublin from 2021-2022.

This zone will showcase the role that Irish has in modern fields such as artificial intelligence, content creation, sustainability and community development.
Our interactive panel discussions will provide the opportunity to ask questions and seek advice. This will give clear insight on college courses and career choices.
Gluaiseacht is a project, funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. Through this project, interactive workshops called the Seó Bóthair are provided, with young people as the focus, where they are encouraged and equipped with the skills to make the concious decision to use Irish and to take a proactive role in the Irish language movement.
