Delorentos, Seo Linn, and The Riptide Movement Among the Headlining Bands for Ravelóid 2016

Kíla to play Ravelóid 2016RTÉ 2fm Presenter Eoghan McDermott Launches Newest Irish Music Festival for Summer 2016

Hot Irish music acts Delorentos, Seo Linn, The Riptide Movement, Ham Sandwich, Kíla, Heathers, Mundy, Hot House Flowers, Altan, Bréag, Mo Hat Mo Gheansaí, TG Lurgan, The Bonnymen, Na Firéin, Gráinne Holland agus Boss Sound Manifesto are headlining Ravelóid, the exciting new Irish language music and culture festival taking place from the 10th – 11th June 2016 at Ardgillan Castle, Dublin, as announced by Eoghan McDermott of RTÉ 2fm at a special launch in Temple Bar, Dublin, earlier tonight (9th December 2015).

RTÉ 2fm is supporting the festival. 2fm drivetime presenter Eoghan McDermott says:

“Ravelóid is definitely shaping up to be the most exciting addition to the Irish festival scene in years. What better way to celebrate the Irish language and our history as a country than a céilí at 3am in a forest after seeing The Riptide Movement, Seo Linn and so much more live on stage?!”

Ravelóid will be the biggest Irish language event of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, and will be the first ever summer festival putting the Irish language and culture at the centre of a dynamic mixture of contemporary and traditional music, comedy, dance, literature, discussions, workshops and more.

More acts will be announced at www.raveloid.ie in 2016.

Ravelóid is an exciting new music and culture festival taking placein Ardgillan Castle, north county Dublin, from 10-11 June 2016. The Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, led by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys T.D., is a year-long programme of activity to commemorate the events of the 1916 Rising, to reflect on our achievements over the last 100 years and to look towards Ireland’s future. An TeangaBheo is one of seven programme strands which include State Ceremonial, Historical Reflection, Cultural Expression, Community Participation, Youth and Imagination and Global and Diaspora.
