Eoghan McDermott launches RavelóidA brand new music festival being launched as part of Ireland 2016 Programme

Ravelóid – the first music festival to be held through Irish next summer - will be launched by RTÉ 2fm’s Eoghan McDermott, at a special concert in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, 7pm, Wednesday 9th December 2015.

Ravelóid is an exciting new music and culture festival taking place from the 10th – 11th June 2016 at Ardgillan Castle, Dublin, and will be the biggest Irish language event of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme. Ravelóid will also be the first ever summer festival putting the Irish language and culture at the centre of a dynamic mixture of contemporary and traditional music, comedy, dance, literature, discussions, workshops and more. RTÉ 2fm is supporting Ravelóid and will bring its listeners news and updates in the run up to the event in addition to a live broadcast from the launch today between 4 – 7pm.

Live music will be provided by Kila on the night of the launch (9th December 2015) as well as a lively panel discussion about the festival, directed by Eoghan McDermott and both food and drink will be provided until 8pm.

Camping with Kíla at Ravelóid!The festival will take place next summer on the expansive grounds of Ardgillan Castle in north county Dublin, where camping will be available free of charge for the 5,000 people who will attend this unique festival.
