A Huge Step Forward in the Station’s Ongoing FM Campaign
Raidió Rí-Rá are delighted to announce that listeners across Leinster are now able to tune in and listen on DAB. DAB is available in many newer cars and is a huge step forward for the station in their ongoing campaign to be on FM every day of the year.
Raidió Rí-Rá is now among the stations broadcasting on DAB thanks to the new FáilteDAB scheme run by Coimisiún na Meán.
Emma Ní Chearúil, Raidió Rí-Rá Station Manager said:
“ It’s fantastic to see Raidió Rí-Rá at the heart of the action on a list alongside other national and local stations now available through FáilteDAB, which is providing this DAB platform in Leinster. This means that listeners in Leinster can tune in to us just like any other station. We’re also thrilled that our broadcast schedule continues to grow and develop, allowing us to deliver a service that’s well-suited to this new phase.”
Speaking about this significant step forward, Traic Ó Braonáin, Chairperson of the Raidió Rí-Rá board said:
“ Raidió Rí-Rá aims to provide a national service through Irish for the young people of this country. The excellent service now being broadcast on DAB shows that the same service could be transferred to FM frequencies across the country easily and quickly if there is political will to facilitate this. It’s brilliant that you can now sit in your car and turn on Raidió Rí-Rá like any other national radio station with top pop music, great presenters, and Irish-language content that’s accessible to all.”
