Gaeltacht Campsite to return at Ireland’s biggest music festival, Electric Picnic 2025

Irish language stage, An Chollchoill (Hazelwood), and Irish speaking campsite announced as part of Croí na Féile, an initiative by Conradh na Gaeilge

Conradh na Gaeilge’s Croí na Féile is set to bring the Irish language to centre stage this year at Electric Picnic, where campers will have the opportunity to pitch their tents in the company of other Irish speakers in the official Gaeltacht campsite, an Láthair Ghaeltachta. Thanks to the continued support from Festival Republic, Conradh na Gaeilge will once again run a campsite for Irish speakers and Irish language programming on the Hazelwood stage (An Chollchoill).

With a sold out ticket allocation over the last number of years, An Láthair Ghaeltachta will offer people a chance to spend the festival with other Irish-speaking campers. This year the campsite is expanding to have a bigger presence at the festival and welcome even more people.

The Irish language stage, An Chollchoill, will celebrate Irish music, language and culture throughout the weekend. Below the trees and under the cover of moonlight, revellers can come and listen to the best of music, with a mix of traditional music and cultúr Gaelach every night.

Speaking about the festival, Orlaith Nic Ghearailt of Conradh na Gaeilge commented:

“We’re delighted to have the support of Festival Republic and bring the Gaeltacht campsite and Collchoill stage back to Electric Picnic again this summer. Their continued support means festival goers can look forward to hearing lots of different Irish language acts throughout the weekend in the Collchoil (Hazelwood) and they can also register for the Gaeltacht campsite to immerse themselves with other Irish language speaking campers.”

Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic said:

"As Ireland’s largest gathering of music & arts, it's important to us that the Irish language has a prominent role at Electric Picnic. Working with Conradh na Gaeilge over the last number of years has seen an increase in the number of Irish language artists perform at the Picnic and this year the Gaeltacht campsite will have an even bigger presence at the festival. We hope all of this, combined with other projects we're working on, will increase the visibility of the Irish language at Electric Picnic 2025 & give festival goers a chance to use their Gaeilge throughout the weekend."

Registration for the Gaeltacht Campsite:

Conradh na Gaeilge invites Electric Picnic attendees to come and stay in the Gaeltacht campsite, where Irish will be the main spoken language with ceol, craic agus cannaí among Gaels at the festival. Tickets available via Ticketmaster. Access to An Ghaeltacht will be via additional specific wristband only. Limited spaces available.
